Frequently Asked Questions

+ What can I expect at a Fit Mommy Charleston class?

Expect to sweat and have fun! Trainers will have new moms sign a liability form before class begins. Class starts with warm up exercises while we introduce ourselves and our littles then take a quick run or walk. The workout itself consists of a variety of strength training exercises with dumbbell weights or bands, core work and cardio mixed in as well. We end the last few minutes with stretching and cool down exercises.

For your first class all you will need is a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and a stroller for your little one(s). If you have a set of dumbbell weights bring those as well, otherwise our trainers keep an extra set with them.

We change workout to a covered location! We provide updates on our private members Facebook page!

+ What if my little is crying?

We all understand because we are moms too! We keep classes moving but you are always welcome to go on a lap if that will help calm your little down! Of course as needed, feed and or wear baby! For older littles snacks and toys are always helpful as well!

+ Can I come to class if Iā€™m pregnant?

Yes! Our trainers will give you exercises that are safe for pregnancy. We would love to have you with us for your prenatal journey. Get all the best mom advice and support ahead of having your baby!

+ After I have a baby when can I begin class?

When you feel up for a longer walk we offer newly postpartum moms our Thursday Mom Meet Up event free for the first 6 weeks postpartum as a way to get to moving gently and to get out of the house. For our normal workout classes we ask that you wait until you are cleared by your doctor.

+ Can I attend class if my kids are too big for the stroller?

Yes, older children may sit on a mat near the stroller or may play nearby as you feel comfortable.
